Everyday is a hard work

She already has 91,000km on her tacho meter. Still running pretty okay everyday.

At this age, I have no choice but to go easy on her. So I keep a reasonable speed of 80-90km/h on the road. It was slow but pretty good for maintaining healthly engine performance.

Replace the engine oil and service the drive belt a few days ago. To my surprise the Fuchs engine oil seem to be be fully compatible with the engine. It runs extremely smooth. May be I'll have a chance to hit 100,000km in say around 3 month.

But the rear absorbers are leaking oil now. I'll need to replace it soon. Else, the ride gonna be a little bumpy. i am still looking for a 150cc engine block but not much luck!

Another major repair

The crank started to sound so noisy. Since my distance is pretty far, I have no choice but to get it properly looked at.

Once the engine was torn down, I could see the crank shaft bearing at the big end, was badly damaged. That was probably why it sound so noisy. The area where front variator was connected to was badly damaged due to previous service. The oil pump gears was also broken. The diaphragm was not reusable. So I planned an overhaul exercise.

Later we found out that the crank shaft comes in a full set. I have no choice but to agree replacing it all.

The piston was okey, so only the piston ring was replaced.

As you know it, a liquid cooled engine was not cheap when it comes to major repairs. With all the gasket and oil seal, the engine oil and the workmanship, the cost reaches up to RM1300. Man, I could get a whole new scoot with that amount of money. But, I decided to get it repaired. At least i do not have to endure more debt if I chooses to buy another scooter.

Now, the scooter is okay but I am pretty broke to renew the road tax. So, I turn to my FX 110 to go to work!

As at now, the mileage is at 86,600km.................

Now at 83,000km

Yes, I've reached 83,000 km with with mini scooter. Consistently doing my 85 km trip in the morning and another 85 km in the afternoon. When there is a need to ride further, I just do it!

The crank shaft damage is now worsened. But only obvious during idling. When I did my ride during the day, it's quite moderate. Top speed seems to remain at around 110 km/h and I was doing around 80-100 km/h most of the time.

I changed my rear tire a few weeks ago. As usual, the Duro 90/90-16. I like this size because it makes it looks a little bigger and seems to suite my weight.

I am looking for performance parts now. Just can't get any in Seremban. If I just can get a good over sized/racing block and a good high profile camshaft.....ehmmm... may be we can push it up to, say, 130 km/h at max speed..... then I can start chasing the GTS/VTS!

A 150cc Nouvo LC...... yessss..........
